When A and M met at work it was definitely love at first site. A is a native German who has lived in London for the past 10 years and M is a Londoner through and through. The two needed neutral territory for their families to meet up to celebrate their nuptials. Having been engaged in Venice in the Spring of 2017 the couple decided that Italy was the perfect spot. After their first visit to Tuscany in May 2017 the couple decided on the breathtaking and romantic Villa Medicea di Lilliano for their spring nuptials. It was the perfect place for a Florentine wedding.
The couple chose the stunning Villa Medicea di Lilliano located in the stunning Florentine countryside. The villa was restored 5 years ago by one of the members of the Malenchini family. Their stunning rooms are purple and green to commemorate their wine and olive oil production. The venue is perfect for 100-150 people with stunning rainy day options. Lilliano allows civil ceremonies.

A and M decided on cute salmon and olive coloured passport invites for their Florentine wedding—- a must with a destination wedding. We tried to match the motif with some beautiful olive watercolored menus and programs customised with the couple’s initials in gold wax. A was very involved in this process… she knew exactly what she wanted.
Scherben bringen Glück or Shards bring luck. The night before the big day the bride and groom’s family met together for a traditional Polterabend—- the Polterabend is hosted by the bride’s family. Relatives and close friends gather and bring their own old porcelain to smash during the event. The couple then has to sweep the shards of porcelain together; representing the difficulties they will find during their marriage and how they must clean up together. A+ M chose Il Carcere Pizzeria in the center of town to host this fun event.
A chose a BHLDN lace Monarch gown. The cutouts on the side of the dress along with her amazing figure made it the perfect choice. A finished the look with some beautiful fuchsia and blue feather Jimmy Choo shoes which complemented not only the dress but A’s fun and spunky personality.
The Bridal party was elegantly clothed in salmon and olive coloured chiffon dresses by BHLDN for their Florentine wedding. I loved how feminine these dresses were—-especially the salmon coloured dresses. The groomsmen were smartly clothes in navy coloured Moss Brother’s suits with pastel pink cravats—nice finishing touch!
A and M chose a civil ceremony on Villa Medicea di Lilliano’s historic terrace overlooking the breathtaking city of Florence. A was accompanied by her bridesmaids in their Olive and Salmon coloured gowns by BHLDN. Two of A and M close friends read cute readings in both German and English. Firenze Classica played some of the couple’s favorite tunes whilst walking down the aisle.
In Italy the best part is always the meal. Golden Catering of Italy served up some classic Italian dishes al fresco in the Villa’s back garden. The guests enjoyed their meal as the sun set over the Chianti countryside. Guests stood up throughout the evening to toast the happy couple, sharing some cute anecdotes on marriage and funny stories about the couple.
A and M chose a yummy cake by the talented Marisa Vitali of Sugarcups Greve. M being a huge James Bond fan—-the cake topper couldn’t be anything else than James Bond inspired. The naked cake was a white Victoria sponge with jam filling and topped with berries.
The after party was one of the most important aspects of the wedding for this fun couple. They chose Alma Project’s Brilliant DJ Show with an open bar. The bride chose a Passion Fruit Mojito and the Groom an Old Fashioned for their signature drinks. The party went on well in into the early hours of the morning—-I’ve never seen a wedding where absolutely no one left early! The best moment was when the couple danced to Moon River by Andy Williams—- Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of the bride’s favourites.
